These descriptions of ethical theories come from notes written to accompany a book titled The Elements of Moral Philosophy by James Rachels. In some cases the points are slightly different than the ones covered in our text but the underlying explanations of each of these ethical theories are the same. You do not need Rachels text to understand these theories or to pass the ethical theory quiz.
